Today, I ran a Stampin’ Up! party for the lovely Chris and her friends. What a delightful way to spend the morning! Coffee, creating with friends and sharing what I love!
Before the party, I asked Chris to identify her favourite stamp set and products from the new annual catalogue. Her answer the “Beautiful You” stamp set. So there was no doubt that we just had to use it for the make and take and workshop wow. It’s one of my favourites too! (A make and take is the card every party guest makes to take home. The workshop wow is where I demonstrate a more advance project.)
Now, Chris and her guests are all experienced card makers so I wanted to share with them something special. We started with some simple water colouring two ways and splattering. Love those watercolor pencils and aqua painters. (I’ll share the products used in this project at the end of the post) Here’s one of the completed make and takes:
Everyone really enjoyed making this project. I’ve even received a text from one of the guests telling me how much fun they had making today’s project. That was really exciting for me!
Next up, I shared projects that I’d made with the Beautiful You stamp set including those that combined this set other products like the Mediterranean Moments stamp set and the Woodland textured impressions embossing folder.
As well as the gorgeous ladies, the Beautiful You stamp set contains wonderful scripted words that can be used on any project and combined with many other stamp sets. Below is a project my High Tide class made last weekend.
The glossy card stock is very reflective and hard to photograph! As you can see the words from The Beautiful You aren’t just for girly cards!
Time for the Workshop Wow!
Last but not least, I shared how to stamp on candles! I must say the ladies were really impressed. Not one of them had seen this technique before. So it really was a workshop wow!
It’s amazing how a cheap plain white candle can be totally transformed by stamps, markers and a heat tool.
Wanna see what the end result looks like? Of course you do!
I made the two candles on the left before the party. I demonstrated making the candle on the right. As the hostess Chris received this collection of candles as her hostess gift.
I had a great morning and really enjoyed helping Chris achieve some great hostess rewards! I know she’ll love playing with her new Stampin’ Up! goodies when they arrive.
If you want to learn how to create these candles contact me to arrange a party or private class. Don’t forget to check out my upcoming learning events
