Because you are entrusting me with your crafting journey, it’s probably time to share some more little fun things about me so you can get to know me better – here’s Chrissy Fact #3. (You can find previous Chrissy Facts here)

Let’s talk about Coffee…

I LOVE coffee!  Not just “like” it but “LURVE” love it.

My family and team members can attest to the fact that you will get no sense out of me until I’ve had my first coffee.  My husband’s week day ritual is waking me with a cup of coffee on my bedside table. He may or may not set the coffee on the table and back away slowly.  We often joke that without coffee, I’m a bit like Miranda Priestley in “The Devil Wears Prada”.

To be honest, there is nothing quite like starting the day with a beautifully brewed cappuccino with a sprinkle of chocolate and a spoonful (or two) of sugar.

After a meal, I love nothing more than to embrace my inner Italian and sip an espresso or macchiato accompanied by a Biscotti. (I’m not Italian!)  There is something wonderfully decadent about indulging in a silky smooth brewed coffee.

Although our Nespresso machine gets a regular daily work out, we have a regular weekend ritual of making coffee with our Bodum French Press.

On a weekend, I cherish getting up before every one else to sit on our outdoor lounge with my puppy and the weekend newspaper to enjoy the peace and solitude while I savour my first coffee of the day.  There’s something truly magical and peaceful that happens when I take that first sip and let that amazing deliciousness slide over my taste buds. It’s a little moment of heaven on earth.

I’m always searching for the perfect coffee whether it be a take away cup or coffee to brew at home.   I always get a little excited when I travel from the airport because I can grab my favourite takeaway coffee from Hudsons.

One of my favourite coffees to grind and brew at home is Sexie Coffie Signature Blend from Sexie Coffie. This  a small coffee shop on the Highway north of Maryborough is absolutely amazing. When my parents make their annual winter pilgrimage to Burrum Heads, I always put in a request for some Sexie Coffie.

Did I mention that adding artificial sweetener is an absolute no-no?
If you must make coffee sweeter add some real sugar… none of those artificial chemicals that leave an awful after taste.

Although coffee is my beverage of choice, I’m not a fan of desserts, chocolates or other dishes flavoured with coffee. Perhaps I’m more of a coffee purist?  That said, the best meatloaf  I have ever tasted contains coffee – weird but true.  Let me tell you this little recipe from New Zealand is amazing.

Sadly, on my doctor’s and nutritionist’s advice, I now restrict my coffee intake.  Apparently having at least 10 cups of coffee a day is a tad excessive.  Who knew?  Anyway I’ve significantly cut back. They tell me three cups a day is still too much but a girl’s got to live!

Do you love your coffee?  Or is another drink your life source?  Share with me – I’d like know I am not alone in my passion for coffee!
