Yes, it’s time for some 12 weeks of Christmas Colour inspiration again.
Hope you enjoyed last week’s Christmas Colour combination… I’d love to see your creations.
This week’s Christmas Colour inspiration comes from the Northern Hemisphere. As some parts of Queensland head into a heatwave, my sister-in-law, Camille in New Hamsphire (USA) is worried about getting snowed in! While we are seeking any cool haven, it’s hard to imagine snow and extreme cold. Her local ski field is open and they’ve a few 30cm dumps of snow for few nights over the past week. The total opposite of here!
I would have loved to see the “woods” and farmland surrounding her home blanketed with snow. I suspect it would have looked a little something like this:

Okay…Maybe the landscape wouldn’t have that artificial shooting star but I can guarantee it would be a riot of stars and incredibly pretty. Where Camille lives is a long way from the city’s bright lights and there are no street lights so there is very little light pollution. This means you can see so many more stars.
The night sky is a very inky blue almost black and the stars seen to burn brighter. The jet streams are crisp white against the darkness. Jet streams are something that we don’t see in our warmer climate. I admit I thought it was super cool when I saw a jet stream for the first time. It was a little confusing too – was the plane on fire? Luckily Steve explained the phenomenon to me.
Anyway, enough about the inspiration…
Let’s get to the colour combination.
12 Weeks of Christmas Colour – Week 9
#12weeksOfChristmasColour #TheCreativeEclectic #TakeTheChallenge #TCE
During my years of teaching card making, the combination of Night of Navy, Silver or Whisper White, has proved to be a Christmas favourite with so many of you. Every year, I’m asked to do custom cards in these colours as well as card classes featuring Navy and White. This year we are stepping it up by adding another shade of blue. In the photo, where the ground meets the sky you can see the Blueberry Bushel shade. It adds another layer of depth.
Your turn… show me what you can do – share your creation on social media or your blog using the hashtags #12weeksOfChristmasColour #TheCreativeEclectic #TakeTheChallenge and put a link to your post in the comments below so I can include your name to be in the running to win a prize end of the challenge! I’m sure a new stamp set would be a welcome addition to your stash! BUT You have to be in it to win it!
