If you’ve liked Stampin’ Up! for a while you probably have a snail adhesive in your basic tool kit. Most Stampin’ Up! demonstrators recommend a snail adhesive to people new to paper crafting for their basic tool kit.
There are five great reasons to include snail adhesive in your craft room essentials:
- it is easy to use,
- the snail is acid and lignin free so it’s safe for use with photos whether it be in scrapbooks and journals or on cards
- there is no mess that you have when you use tape with a backing sheet
- it’s relatively inexpensive and
- you can refill it when your adhesive runs out.
All great reasons to have a snail adhesive in your stash. It is probably one of those things you reach for almost every time you craft!
Today I’m going “back to basics” to show you how to change your refills and to care for your snail dispenser. Sometimes, when you’ve been paper crafting for years, it’s easy to forget to explain the little things that make using a product easier. This is why I’ve done this video. Even if you already know how to change a snail refill, I’ll let you in a something that NO ONE tells you about that I guarantee will improve your snail experience.
Are you ready?
Let’s watch the video…
Now you’ve seen the video, aren’t you surprised that no one ever told us that adhesive builds up inside the snail casing over time? Certainly, no one ever told me that removing the excess adhesive gunk will prevent the snail from getting caught up and help it run smoothly. It makes sense to look after one of the most used tools in our craft room. It’s astounding how such a simple practical maintenance task totally changes how well your snail will work.
Don’t forget the second tip, to always order two snail refills so that you never run out. There is nothing worse than running out of adhesive halfway through a project. Trust me I know!
Hope you found this tip helpful. If you have any suggestions for other tips and tricks drop me an email.
Until next time… Happy Creating.
