Yesterday I shared the cracked glass heat embossing technique, since then many of you have asked about the smoky slate card featured at the start of the video and want all the details.
I won’t cover how to do the cracked glass heat embossing technique in this post as you saw that in yesterday’s post (I don’t want to bore you by repeating myself!.) but I will give you the basic measurements and a list of materials that I used.
Here’s the card that I’ve got so many questions about:
The measurements for the card stock pieces and ribbon are:
- Card Stock A4 Smoky Slate [131291] – 14.9cm x 21cm (half an A4 sheet for the base card), 4cm x 14cm
- Basic Gray A4 Card Stock [121689] – 10cm x 14.5cm, 4.5 x 14.5cm, 9cm x 9cm (to cut an 8cm circle)
- Whisper White A4 Card Stock [106549] – 9.5cm x 14cm, 8.5cm x 8.5cm (for the 7.5cm stitched circle)
- Real Red 1/8″ (3.2 Mm) Solid Ribbon [144631] – 16cm (secure the ends under the smoky slate piece with glue dots) 18cm (for the bow – again glue dots are your friend) – Scroll to the bottom of the page for the other products needed to make this project.
This basic “Z fold card so it’s super easy, fits a standard enveloped and looks a little fancy. (I love easy things that look impressive! ) The Smoky Slate Card Base was scored and folded at 5.25cm and 10.5cm. Use your Stampin’ Trimmer with the Scoring Blade or Simply Scored tool (with the metric plate) and your bone folder to get precise, crisp folds.
Just to recap, the essentials you need for the cracked glass technique are:
- Versamark Pad [102283] $15.75
- Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder [109130] $8.75
- Heat Tool [129056] $50.00
- Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad [147114] $13.00
- Sponge Daubers [133773] $9.00
- Your stamped and coloured image
- A paper towel, tissue or rag to clean off the excess ink
As I mentioned yesterday, when you buy all these Stampin’ Up! heat embossing items together during Sale-a-bration (before 31st March 2019), you will be eligible for a Sale-A-Bration reward as they total just over $90. Here are the Sale-A-Bration details.
Don’t forget to check the Heat Embossing – how to for more heat embossing techniques. It’s under the “Learn” menu at the top of this page.
Hope this helps… until next time “Happy Creating!”
