So this happened…
On 25 June I reach my 10th Stampin’ Up! anniversary. I meant to post to the blog that day but other stuff (like launch party preparations) got in the way. We didn’t even celebrate it with a nice dinner. I did receive a letter from Shelli & Sara at Stampin’ Up! as well as a fabulous anniversary pin!)
So I decided that my annual catalogue launch the following weekend would be my celebration. It was an awesome #crafternoon. I had a terrific time, but I always do when I create with friends…
Let me show you the highlights:
How much fun did that look? And Yes! My husband Steve was there too but he didn’t get in any photos, so he didn’t make the video.
The video doesn’t do justice to the make & takes so let’s have another look:

Aren’t they pretty? Everyone seemed happy with the two cards they made – a fern and a daisy. They created them really quickly, which left more time for a catalogue “tour” and afternoon tea.
Smile Fern Card
Because everyone at the launch had such fun doing the “make & takes” and since I’m in a generous mood, I’m sharing the instructions for one of the make and takes with you.
This is a quick easy card and you can make six of these with one sheet of the Garden Lane designer series paper.
Now, I have a confession to make…when I was ordering my Product Purchase Premiere (Exclusive Pre-order) at Onstage Live in Auckland, I accidently ordered this paper. I’m not sure if I entered the wrong number or just got carried away. So I was surprised when this paper turned up! Just thought I’d share in case you’re wondering why I am using paper that is completely different to my usual style…
Gather your supplies
For this card you will need:
- Daisy Lane Cling Stamp Set [149325]
- Garden Lane Designer Series Paper [149488] – 5¼” x3¾”
- Soft Sea Foam A4 Cardstock [147012] – half an A4 sheet – 14.9cm x 21.7cm
- Whisper White A4 Card Stock [106549] – 3¼” x 2¾” and 5¼” x3¾”
- Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad [147089]
- Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad [147111]
- Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack [148547]
- Mint Macaron 1/4″ (6.4 Mm) Textile Ribbon [149480] – 6″
- Linen Thread [104199]
- Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon [144172] (This is retired so use any thin white ribbon in your stash) – 6″
- Whisper White 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon [144159] (Retired-substitute the new Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon) – 3½”
- Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack [149485]
- Snail Adhesive [104332]
- Stampin’ Dimensionals [104430]
- Mini Glue Dots [103683]
Step by Step
Fold the Soft Sea foam Card stock in half to form a base card- On the inside of the cards attach the 5¼” x3¾” piece of whisper white cardstock.
- Adhere the 5¼”x3¾” Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (patterned paper) to the front centre of the card.
- Colour the Whisper White ⅛” ribbon with the Mossy Meadow Blend Pen
- On the 3¼” x 2¾” Whisper White Card stamp:
- Fern in Garden Green Ink
- “Smile” in Mossy Meadow Ink
- Adhere the whisper white stamp layer to the base layer using dimensionals – I positioned this layer aproximately ½” in from the right hand and top edges of the designer series paper.
- Fold your Mint Macaron Ribbon in half and layer this with your folded Mossy Meadow Ribbon and white ribbon, place a mini glue dot between each layer and tie some linen thread around them to hold them together together. TIP: Put a glue dot under your knot to hold it in place while you tie the bow in the linen thread.
- Attach the ribbon to the base card using Glue Dots (two or three)
So there you have it ! A quick card in just a few minutes.
Change it up
Both sides of the Garden Lane designer series paper are suitable for this project so by changing which side of the paper you use your stash of cards has more variety. You can even change where you position the white card stock – move to the left or the center to change the look. Why not turn the base card on its edge to make a side opening card?

With the same basic materials you can make this card at least four different ways. So many possibilities.
Don’t forget that the Daisy Lane Stamp Cling Set also comes in a Bundle with the Medium Daisy Punch and when you buy them together you save 10%. This set also coordinates with the Daisy Delight Cling Stamp Set and Daisy Punch – so you can have double the fun by teaming these two sets together!
