It’s Tuesday Technique Time.
Today, I’m going to show with you one of my favorite quick and easy gift ideas, hand-stamped candles.
Have you ever had literally only half an hour to come up a fabulous personalized gift for someone? There is no time to get to the shops and back, let alone park the car and find something fabulous. it’s one of those rare times that chocolate or wine isn’t a suitable gift (GASP). What are you going to do?
All is not lost!
What if I told you you can create a fabulous hand-stamped home decor gift in under 20 minutes with your stamps and three items you probably already have at home? You probably wouldn’t believe me! Pinky promise this is true.
Trust me on this.
I don’t know about you but I always have wax paper in my kitchen drawer, a pack of tissue paper with my wrapping paper stash, and a stash of unopened candles in case of power outages during summer storms. Combine these three household items with your stamps, ink, and heat embossing tool and you’ve got your gift sorted in no time at all.

So simple, yet so effective. It will take a teeny bit of practice to get your wax paper tight enough and not overheat the candle. I’m sure you’ll master this technique in no time at all.
When you have more time, you can create candles with lots of intricate coloring. The video was to show how quick, it can be – the candle was created in under 12 minutes. I’ve included a list at the bottom of this post, if you want to purchase any of the items used to create the poppy candle.
Imagine the possibilities
You could stamp candles for ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day like I did here but you don’t have to stop there. I can see you stamping candles for Christenings, new babies, 21st’s, Wedding favors (instead of those icky sugared almonds), anniversaries, Halloween, Easter, Mother’s Day, and, of course, Christmas. So many options! I can’t wait to see what you make.
