As Shark week with a twist comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to share this “love you’ card and to tell you about the best invention ever!
Share a little shark love
This Shark Love card was designed to say “Love You” to someone special in your family.
Stampin’ Blends were used to colour each shark. To get the unique colours on the Mummy & Daddy sharks I combined different blends together.
- Mummy shark: base light Balmy Blue first then coloured over the top with seaside spray (light & dark).
- Daddy shark: Light Seaside Spray base then Misty Moonlight (light & dark)
- Baby Shark: Dark balmy blue
You may have noticed that Mummy Shark is reversed and there is no large shark stamp facing that way in the Shark Frenzy Stamp Set. It’s easy to mirror stamps or create a relfection using your Stamparatus and a silcone craft mat. The best invention ever!
I promised to tell you about the best invention ever! Do you see those cute die-cut bubbles?
I can hear you groaning from here as you imagine what an awful mess these are going to create as you try to stick them on with multipurpose glue.
Fear not! There is a much better way! Let me introduce you to adhesive sheets. If you do a lot of intricate die-cutting, these may well be the best invention since sliced bread.
Toss aside the multi-purpose glue (save it for later) and say hello to this simple low mess solution.
It’s as easy as 1,2,3
- Before you die-cut peel off one of the adhesive sheet backing papers (cut the adhesive sheet to size) and affix it to the reverse (wrong) side of your cardstock or paper
- Die-cut the image as you would normally do
- Peel off the other backing sheet and attach it to your project. Use your Take Your Pick Tool to separate the backing paper.
How simple! The best part is there is almost no mess – Seriously, the only way to get messy is to accidentally touch the sticky side of the adhesive sheets.
Add a heart charm
Check out the little heart charm embellishment (featured on page 11 of the January to June mini-catalogue) how cute is that? I used a small scrap of the adhesive sheet to stick it to a heart that I fussy cut from magenta madness cardstock.
This magenta heart was adhered to the card using the adhesive sheets as well. No point getting out the glue and making a mess is there?
