Last Thursday, I was fortunate to do a Zoom Mystery Card Stamp-along with my dear friend, Meg in Texas and her Stamping Family.   It was so much fun!  I don’t often get to stamp along with others just for fun! This was actually the first mystery stamp along that I’d done as a participant – I’ve filmed a couple but it’s nice to learn something new

Because the clues (directions) were vague and open to interpretation and we were all using what stamps, ink, card stock and patterned paper that we had on hand, everybody’s card turned out completely different.  The beauty of mystery stamping is that there is no right or wrong way to do it!

Here’s my interpretation of the clues:

Mystery Stamp Along with Stamping Family! A Z fold made with Artistically Inked. #Funfold #stampinup #rubberstamping #handmadecards #TheCreativeEclectic

As you can see from the photo above the card was made using American Measurements so it is significantly smaller than our Australian standard C6 envelopes.

My card was significantly different to everyone else’s because my front panel is positioned vertically instead of horizontally. As I said the instructions weren’t specific and I don’t think it matters.  I’m a little in love with the Artistically Inked bundle and the coordinating Expressions in Ink Designer specialty series paper.  The Magenta Madness/Just Jade colour combination is one of my favourites.

The Aussie Version

After the Zoom, I recreated the card with a different stamp set (Art Gallery) and embellishments using Australian measurements. Here’s what the Aussie version looked like.

I photographed the two cards together so you can see the size difference.

The card at the top (US version) is a good deal narrower but taller (5½” x 4¼”).  Whereas the Aussie card is wider a teeny bit shorter (57/8”  x 4¹⁄8” – half an A4 sheet).

I have to say that I really loved the experience stamping along at home and connecting by Zoom.  It’s a little daunting having no idea what your card will look like until the end, but once I relaxed and just enjoyed the creative process it was fun.  Will I participate in a Zoom Mystery Craft Along again? Absolutely!

Join the fun

You may recall I did Facebook Live Mystery Card Stamp-Alongs in September and October. Well, the next Facebook is scheduled for next Saturday, 6th November at 9 am!  Get all the details here. You will need to have your supplies and a cuppa ready before we start.

I had so much fun at the last two Facebook Lives Mystery Stamp Alongs that I can’t wait for the next one. The advantage for you is that you don’t even have to get out of your PJs or brush your hair when you stamp along to a Facebook Live!

Hope to see you there!

Until next time… Happy Creating!
