I love cards with lots of layers and techniques that are a labour of love and take hours to make, but sometimes, you just need to make a quick card. Today’s super easy birthday card is a quick one. it’s one of those cards that you can make in under 15 minutes. It’s nine easy steps.

What you’ll need:

At the end of this post, I’ve included a shopping list so you can get what you need.

Step by Step

Are you ready to create this super easy birthday card?

  1. Fold score the white or thick white card stock at 4″ on the long side and fold along the score line. Use your bone folder to burnish the fold so it is nice and crisp. This is your base card.
  2. On the large Highland Heather card stock piece, stamp cupcakes randomly in the Highland Heather ink. (I stamped the cupcake 11 times) Attach this stamped piece to the front of your folded white base card.
  3. In memento ink, stamp a cupcake on your smaller piece of white card stock and colour it with Stampin’ Blends. You don’t need to be precise just quick, rough colouring. I used
    • Icing – Highland Heather
    • Cake – Crumb Cake
    • Foil – Smoky Slate
    • Highlights – Colour Lifter
  4. Stamp the words celebrate around the cupcake. Smoky Slate was my colour of choice.
  5. Using the 2-3/8″ (6 cm) Circle Punch, punch out the words and coloured image.
  6. Punch or die cut a 3-1/2″ circle from Highland Heather card stock
  7. Affix the stamped white circle to the Highland Heather circle with dimensionals
  8. Adhere the Highland Heather Circle to the stamped Highland Heather Card Front with dimensionals
  9. Bling it up with some Festive Pearls. (OPTIONAL: Add some Wink of Stella to the “icing” and cupcake wrapper to make it shimmer.).

Just like that, you’re done! I told you it was a super easy birthday card!

Change it up!

What I love about this card is that you can adapt it to any colour you like! You can make it blue, green, red, aqua, orange or even yellow – just swap the Highland Heather card stock, ink and blends with the colour of your choice! As I said it’s a super easy birthday card!

In the comments below, let me know if you like this tutorial. I’d love to hear what you think. If you have any questions, remember you can contact me.

Until next time… happy creating.
