It’s 12 Colour Combinations of Christmas day number 10, and today we’re leaning into a softer take on traditional Christmas colours.

The inspiration photo features a vintage Christmas tray with a red candlestick, a deep green spruce bottle brush Christmas tree, and yellow-green pine boughs layered behind. And can we talk about that gorgeous vintage green wallpaper with cream snowflakes? Oh My!

Day 10

Now you could swap out the real red for a much deeper Cherry Cobbler and it would still look amazing. Take a look:

Day 10 – Alternative Red

Wow this post is a two combinations for the price of one!

Day 10’s colour combination creation:

12 Colour Combinations of Christmas - Day 10 Card - front view - A softer traditional Christmas colour palette of Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Shaded Spruce, inspired by vintage décor and classic festive style.

My card uses the aptly named Traditional Labels stamp set with the Christmas Greenery Dies. Satin ribbons in Shaded Spruce and Real Red add beautiful texture. The stamp set dies and shiny real red ribbon are all part of the traditional labels suite collection and are used in the Traditions of Christmas Virtual Crafting Class (Note: these products and class are all retiring soon so be sure to grab them off the Last Chance section of my online Stampin’ Up! store.)

The inside is a little different too

You may also notice today’s card is 5¾” square with a little fancy fold —just changing things up to keep you on your toes.

I love the simplicity of this card. Using the adhesive sheets when die cutting made sticking it together so much easier and less messy. (If you have an aversion to glue, make sure you get some of these adhesive sheets. They make a huge difference.) The two contrasting greens were a happy experiment that turned out WAY better than I expected.

Is this a colour combination that you will try? Be sure to let me know in the comments.

Only two days left… what combination do you think I’ll do next?

Until next time… happy creating!
