Hello and welcome to Day 7 of our 12 Colour Combinations of Christmas.

Today we’re leaning into soft, serene blues, paired with products I honestly forget about far too often.

Let’s start with the inspiration photo.

12 Colour Combinations of Christmas 2025 - Day 7 - Cloud Cover, Pool Party, White & Silver inspiration - Snowman, silver tree and baubles on the snow

How cute is that little snowman hanging out by his silver Christmas tree in the fluffy “snow”? I’m loving the oversized silver and Tiffany blue baubles too. And that sky? It looks suspiciously like Stampin’ Up!’s Cloud Cover. Everything about this inspiration photo reflects an elegant, icy, frosted winter look. Honestly, it has me sitting here in our early-summer sweltering heat, longing for snow.

Today’s colour combination

12 Colour Combinations of Christmas 2025

My interpretation

This set of five little note cards is absolutely filled with techniques. A collection of little cards like these tied up in a bow also make a great Christmas Gift.

The process

I started with a cling-wrap inked background using Cloud Cover, which gives such a soft, organic texture every single time. Then I pulled out one of those often-forgotten products—Masking Paper—along with Pool Party ink and blending brushes to create the look of gentle snow drifts.

Next up was adding the silver heat-embossed bottle brush Christmas tree from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set. Once that was in place, it was time to give those snow drifts some dimension. My regularly neglected Shimmery White Embossing Paste was the perfect product for the job. And here’s a fun tip—if you dry your embossing paste with a heat tool, it puffs up beautifully. It’s such an easy way to add extra texture and interest. To create a vintage look I splatter the card fronts with a wink of Stella and the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Write Marker.

The final step was adding the heat embossed sentiments, keeping them simple so all those layers and techniques could really shine. (Did you spot a new stamp and punch bundle there?)

What do you think?

This soft blue palette feels calm, elegant, and quietly festive. It’s a beautiful reminder that Christmas doesn’t always have to be bold or busy—sometimes frosty and understated is exactly right. And if this project encourages you to pull out a forgotten product or two from your shelf, then it’s done its job.

Pop back tomorrow for Day 8, where the festive colour combination was chosen especially for you by my Florida-based Stampin’ Up! buddy, Bethany. It’s a fun one, and I can’t wait to see what you think.

Until next time… happy creating.
