Welcome to Day 9 of 12 Colour Combinations of Christmas, where we’re proving once again that colour inspiration can come from the most unexpected places.

Today’s inspiration photo shows mossy green pine boughs decorated with fresh strawberries and pops of yellow. It’s festive, fresh, and just a little bit playful. To be honest I haven’t worked out if those yellow decorations are lemons, yellow strawberries or something else entirely. But it really doesn’t matter! It inspired this colour combination!

Today’s colour combination:

12 Colour Combinations of Christmas 2025

Day 9’s creation

My project is a pinwheel card, created using a non-Christmas stamp set paired with a hybrid embossing folder. Because let’s be honest—Christmas crafting requires coffee, donuts, and possibly a large slice of lemon meringue pie. This project is all about using what you already have and looking beyond a stamp set’s original purpose.

The other hero of this card are the Mossy Meadow panels embossed with the Jolly Holly hybrid embossing folder. The die cut dry embossed pieces give glimpses of the strawberry slush layer underneath. You can even pop the holly leaves up on dimensionals to create more dimension.

The only downside to this fancy fold card is it doesn’t fit a standard size envelope.

PRO TIP:

To create more depth to die cut words, apply adhesive sheets to the back of the card stock before cutting, then cut several dies cut words (5 to 10), remove the adhesive backing and layer the words on top of one another.
