We had so much fun Mystery Stamping this morning… even with the sniffles! 🤧 Crafting with friends is always a great pick-me-up, and today’s project was a fun reminder that you don’t need lots of complicated techniques to create a WOW card.

In this live, we created a layered card using a supply that many crafters already have in their stash but may not think to use in this way: Memories & More Note Cards. These small cards are usually designed for quick notes or gift cards, but today we turned one into the focal point of a larger handmade card.

Mystery Stamping Card Tutorial – Craft a Surprise Card Step by Step

Mystery Stamping is one of my favourite ways to run a crafting session because it adds a little excitement and creativity to the process.

Instead of seeing the finished card straight away, everyone follows a series of step-by-step clues (Click for the PDF) With each clue, the project slowly starts to take shape. No one knows exactly what the finished design will look like until the very end.

It’s always fun watching the guesses in the comments as people try to work out where the project is heading. And the best part? Even though everyone follows the same clues, the finished cards often look completely different depending on the papers, colours, and embellishments used.

Creative Ways to Use Memories & More Note Cards for Card Making

For today’s project we created a WOW card in just 10 easy steps, wel,l 10 after we collected our supplies. The design combines layered cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, and stamping to create a card that looks detailed but is actually very simple to make.

This layout is perfect for:

using up patterned paper
incorporating card stock scraps
showcasing a favourite stamped image
adding ribbon and embellishments for extra texture

The Memories & More Note Card becomes a fun interactive element layered onto the front of the card base, giving you even more space to decorate and stamp.
